Steel Lateral Design Process

This is part 2 of a 2 part session. In this session you'll run a steel design (all) process for both gravity and lateral combinations. You'll review a brief introduction to second-order effects. After running the design, you'll learn how to review the project workspace - status tree for any issues in the model, analysis or design. In this session you will create a multi-material 2D frame. You will start by reviewing the help system and pre-model settings within the program. Pile reporting enhancements

Tekla Structural Designer 2019 Service Pack 3 has provided a number of Pile reporting enhancements. The Design Summary for piles is expanded and enhanced to allow additional information to be reported. Any/all data from the Design summary report can also be added as an automated table to the Foundation Layout Drawing. All Review Data Tabular Reports can now be exported directly to Excel, facilitating further processing and easy sharing of design data with other parties.

Sub Structure enhancements

Tekla Structural Designer 2019 Service Pack 3 has provided a number of Sub Structures enhancements.  Sub Structures are saved user-defined selection groups of any objects which can be of any size and mix of object types, materials etc.  They can be viewed in isolation and used as filters for many areas of program operation. Using Sub Structures has multiple productivity benefits throughout the Structural Designer workflow, from model organization and editing through to results review, design and output. Their creation, review and editing is now made even easier.

Interactive design using Result lines

This video shows how to use Interactive design on result lines on walls with openings. Significant enhancements have been made to the Additional Design Cases option in interactive design of concrete Column and Wall design.  The enhancement applies to any column or wall, but is especially useful when investigating Result Line design.
