When activating my PAK I get the error "License activation service (LicenseActivation.exe) is not installed or registered correctly". Why is this and how do I fix it?

I get the following error message as sbown in the picture below when activating my PAK  "License activation service (LicenseActivation.exe) is not installed or registered correctly".

Resolution

This error appears to occur only when the License Manager (LM) has opened after attempting to run TSD (or another Structural Design application) when it is not yet licensed.  In this case the LM automatically opens when no license is found and will display a message stating this.  It does not occur when the LM is opened directly, so this is the work around (see detailed steps below).

This issue is currently being investigated by our developers.

Steps to resolve:

1. Close ALL Tekla Structural Design application windows (including the License Manager if it is open)
2. Open the License Manager application directly by doing the following:
   1. Go to the Windows Start Menu
   2. Scroll to the Tekla folder
   3. Launch the License Manager directly. 
   4. You can also locate the License Manager by clicking the Windows button then start typing "license manger" - open the License Manager application when it is listed.
3. Do NOT try launching TSD or any other Tekla Structural Design application at this stage.
4. Activate the PAK(s)
5. Close the License Manager
6. Try launching TSD.
