Updates

The following topics highlight the changes and enhancements in

  • Tekla Structural Designer Integrator for Autodesk Revit© 2019 version 5.01
  • Tekla Structural Designer Integrator for Autodesk Revit© 2018 version 4.02
  • Tekla Structural Designer Integrator for Autodesk Revit© 2017 version 3.04

For fixes and enhancements included in versions prior to those please see Software Updates

Existing Revit Beam/Brace Joins Reset when Updating

[TSD-1511]1 - When updating models from Tekla Structural Designer, the import process used to reset existing beam and brace joins in Revit. Some users would have had to continually drag brace ends back after import. This has been fixed.

Importing Member Forces

Provided Analysis Results are included when exporting models from Tekla Structural Designer 19.0, more information will be imported into the Revit model.

  1. Splice Forces are now included for Steel Columns - as forces on the bottom of the upper lift
  2. Beam End Forces are included for beams of all material types and for Truss Members (not Internals)
  3. Brace Forces are included for Truss Internals as well as Braces

The same simple rules are used to determine Maxima & Minima and not coincident forces.

“Highlighted floors overlap” when importing into Revit

[TSD-576]1 - When importing some models from Tekla Structural Designer, the log file might have included the message “Warning : Highlighted floors overlap”, but with no indication of which objects were causing the problem. For most models, these messages were misleading because they were generated before the import process automatically joined the objects.

Importing L Shaped Concrete Columns from Tekla Structural Designer

[TSD-862, TSD-1985]1 - Previously users might see warning messages in the import log file and the columns would be created in Revit with the wrong geometry. This has been addressed.

Importing “Finish” UDA from Tekla Structural Designer

[TSD-569]1 - If a UDA called “Finish” was created and assigned to objects in Tekla Structural Designer, the corresponding Revit parameter was not created during the import. This has been addressed.

Import Model Changed Bracing Releases when not necessary

[TSD-1610]1 - Previously users may have seen warning messages when updating an existing Revit model that the releases had been changed for Structural Braces even though no changes had been made in Tekla Structural Designer. This has been fixed.

Some Concrete Columns exported to Tekla Structural Designer with Incorrect Shape

[TSD-875]1 - On rare occasions, some concrete columns modelled in Revit would be exported to Tekla Structural Designer with a T-section instead of their actual shape, (C-Sections, Pentagon, Hexagon, Octagon, I-Sections). They are now exported with the correct shape.

Other Issues

Other minor issues have been addressed based on your feedback.  Thank you.
