Tekla Structural Designer Integrator July 2017 updates

Tekla Structural Designer Integrator for Autodesk Revit©

Tekla Structural Designer Integrator is now fully compatible with the Autodesk Revit© 2019 package. Integration with regards to imports, exports and merges into this platform are now available.

Australian Steel Members, Grades and Metal Decks Mapped (Ref. #4032)

Previously users would need to set up custom mapping files for standard Autodesk content for Australia when exporting from Revit to TSD or importing from TSD to Revit. This has been addressed. We have also added several profiles to the Tekla Library so that the metal decks in composite slabs can be round-tripped without mapping problems.

Indian Steel Members and Grades Mapped (Ref. #4031)

Previously users would need to set up custom mapping files for standard Autodesk content for India when exporting from Revit to TSD or importing from TSD to Revit. This has been addressed.

Note: There is a problem with the orientation of one of the standard Autodesk families - Structural Framing\Steel\India Specific\IST.rfa.  Any problems need to be rasied with Autodesk support.

Errors Corrected for UK Grade Mapping (Ref. #53175)

We have updated the automatic mapping for some Material Grades for the UK.

Errors Corrected for USA Steel Grade Mapping (Ref. #50388 and 53129)

We have updated the automatic mapping for some Material Grades for the USA.

Errors Corrected for USA Hollow Section Mapping (Ref. #54179)

The automatic mapping was not correct for several HSS Rectangular and Square sections in the USA but has now been fixed. You must also use TSD 2018 for correct round-tripping of these items as part of the problem was in that product.

Note: The standard Autodesk families have not been updated to AISC 15th Edition for Revit 2017, 2018 or 2019.

Wall Openings Not Exported (Ref. #54151)

Due to an error in the wizard user interface, Openings were always unchecked on the Export Filter page of the Wizard. Even if that option was then checked, openings were not included in the exported file. The Wizard now remembers the setting and wall openings will be included in the export file if the option is checked.

Note: Openings are currently beyond scope for Bearing Walls.

Wrong Units for Analysis Result Properties (Ref. #54011 and SRX14592)

Two of the Analysis Results parameters for beams had the wrong unit type (Result_EndMomentMax and Result_EndMomentMaxNeg were both marked as Force rather than Moment). Due to internal conversions in Revit, this meant that the value quoted was wrong as well as the unit.

Due to limitations in the Revit API  the scope for correcting old models is restricted:

  • Correct the TSD parameter file
  • New Revit models will be correct
  • Correct old Revit models if a new import is performed
  • Users will be warned about tags and schedules loaded into an old Revit model. Please contact Support for assistance if this occurs.

Axial Forces Imported for Pinned Beams (Ref. #53173, SRX13790 & SRX14429)

Previously, where a beam was Pinned at both ends and not marked as Gravity Only, we only imported Maximum Positive Shear and Maximum Negative Shear. Now we will import Maximum Positive Axial, Maximum Negative Axial as well.

Framing Joins Incorrect after Update from TSD (Ref. #49031 & 54100)

In some situations, updating from TSD caused problems with the join settings in the Revit model for cranked members and trusses. For example, the model shown in the left hand picture could be updated to leave the model in the right hand picture. This is now fixed.

Errors Corrected for USA HP and S Section Mapping (Ref. TSD-916)

The automatic mapping was not correct for several  HP and S sections in the USA but has now been fixed.  This mainly affected metric names, (e.g. S 250x52 and HP 410x181), but also HP sections with depth larger than 14 inches, (e.g. HP 16x162).

Note: The standard Autodesk families have not been updated to AISC 15th Edition for Revit 2017, 2018 or 2019.

Errors Corrected for various Steel Angles (L shapes) (Ref. TSD-886)

In some situations, the orientation of Steel Angles was not consistent between Revit and TSD.

Errors Corrected for various South East Asia Steel Angles (Ref. TSD-887)

The angle shapes for China, Perwaja and Continental sections did not 'flex' properly, i.e. Revit would fail to create the geometry for some of these sections, e.g. Continental EA 20x20x3.0.
