Is it possible to add or amend the ratio divisions used when viewing a Ratio command on the Review ribbon?

Question

When viewing one of the Ratio commands on the Review ribbon, we would like to add our own divisions or adjust the existing ones to better interogate the model. Is this possible?

 

Answer

Tekla Structural Designer 2018 has added the ability to add up to a maximum of 10 user defined divisions along with a user defined colour for each.

These can be specified via the Home ribbon > Settings > Scene > Utilization Ratios page.

The default values are shown below.

 

In the screenshot below we have input the maximum 10 divisions by clicking Add, setting the Minimum value required, defining a Colour by clicking on the colour adjacent to the minimum value and then clicking Sort to re-order. This is then repeated for each subsequent division. Note that the divisions must not overlap or be the same values.

 

Note that you are not limited to a maximum utilization ratio of 1.0. In the screenshot above we have set an upper value of 1.1

Once you confirm the values in the dialog the graphical views are automatically updated to reflect the changes.

 




Note that the Home ribbon > Settings command is applicable to future model files only. The exception to this is the General and Display settings (of which the Scene pages belong) and are therefore applicable to future and existing model files. Please refer to Help for further information on the Settings and Model Settings commands.
