The Tekla Structural License Service allows you to share and manage your licenses. It also allows users to commute licenses and report on license activity.
At the Server
- Download and run the Tekla Structural License Service installation file
- Follow the on-screen prompts to install the ‘License Server’ and ‘License Server Manager’
- You can now launch the License Server Manager and activate your licenses
If you do not have a separate computer which will act as the license server or your computer is not connected to a network then the license server software can be installed on the same computer as the application software.

What version of Sentinel RMS is shipped?
Tekla Structural License Service 2.06 is shipped with Sentinel RMS version 9.2.1 which is no different to that shipped with the previous version, Tekla Structural License Service 2.04.
Do I need to update to this version?
While we always recommend upgrading to the latest version of Tekla Structural License Service this particular release was to address an issue with Tekla Structural Designer intermittently dropping licenses resulting in the following message "The model cannot be saved, because it exceeds the model size limit for the currently available license".
Do I need to upgrade both my client and server?
No - you only need to upgrade your client machines provided you are running Tekla Structural License Service 2.04 on your server.
